Three things we shouldn’t do because someone else is…

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour, and some style – Maya Angelou

Sometimes life gets us into crossroads where we have the pressure to take a decision about something that is very important. In such cases, it’s often not possible to take the road that’s less traveled by. So, here’s my list of three things which we shouldn’t do because someone else has done it/is doing it/will do it:

  1. Marriage: Marriage is a commitment, a responsibility to be with someone for life. From the time you are in your early 20s the society has only question for us and that is ‘When are you getting married?’ Rather scary isn’t it? And we also incline towards getting married because many of our friends got married, they are busy in their own lives, we start to believe that staying alone is a sin and curse the situations, previous relationships and partners who dumped us. Only suggestion I can give is ‘GET MARRIED WHEN YOU ARE READY FINANCIALLY and EMOTIONALLY and NOT BECAUSE SOMEONE ASKED YOU’. Remember, end of the day it’s YOU who’s committed to take up the responsibility.
  2. Qualification: Being a doctor, engineer or an actor is your choice. Do you want to end up sulking a lifetime because of the roads not taken? Of course, not. Then get your shit right and be what you want to be in your life. However, don’t forget the ultimate goal of any qualification is to earn money and justify what you do (at least to yourself). List out 5 things which you like to do and also see if there are any opportunities in that passion of yours to generate some dough.
  3. Lifestyle: How to live your life is your choice, because human body is intelligent in it’s own way. It often warns us every now and then if anything is beyond control. And one more such wonderful fact with the God’s creation is that the both body and mind can heal themselves in bad and even worse situations.

That’s my list and yes, please do comment if you have anything to add from your end; I’d love to know more.

Ciao!
